Currently only one in seven Wills contains a charitable bequest and very many people fail to make a Will at all. Here is a sample form of wording for those who would like to prepare a bequest in favour of Vision Aid Overseas:

‘I bequeath to Vision Aid Overseas (a tenth/a quarter/a half etc.) of the residue of my estate, free of tax and duty, to be applied to the general purpose of the said Vision Aid Overseas, and I declare that the receipt of the Honorary Treasurer or other authorised official for the time being of the said Vision Aid Overseas shall be sufficient discharge of the bequest.’
